Embeddings: $12/month

Whisper: $8/month

Total: ~$405/month

This serves about 500 daily active users across 3 products.

My 2026 stack:

GPT-4o + o1 (tiered by task complexity)

text-embedding-3-large at 1536 dims

Weaviate (switched from Pinecone for cost)

No framework — raw SDK calls + custom orchestration

Braintrust for eval

Helicone for monitoring

~$1.5K/month

Dropped LangChain last year and never looked back. The SDK is good enough.
